P535 - Particle Physics
Spring Semester, 1996/97
Prof. Rick Van Kooten
(Under Construction)
Introduction to fundamental particles in nature
and their interactions, i.e.
basic features of the electromagnetic, weak, and strong forces and the role
that symmetries play in our current "Standard Model" including the quark model.
Weaknesses of the Standard Model and extensions to new physics will also be
discussed. How experimental results have led to our current understanding will
be stressed.
