D. Rust and H. Ogren, brought up the 3 part punch and the roll of fiber material that we got from CERN.
They first experimented with the old two element punch, to find out a workable way to cut and extract the fiber pieces. This was done on a traveling head click punch- 30 tons.Paper backing was used between the polypropylene cutting block and the fiber.
Then they switched to the three individual punches that we now are going to use for the full scale protoypes radiators.This punch was a traveling head click punch- 50 tons. It was found that a four layer fiber blank could be easily cut with allof the tools.
